Base Salary Approval for Named Executive Officers of United States Steel Corporation (2006)
United States Steel Corporation's Compensation & Organization Committee approved new annual base salaries for its named executive officers, effective May 1, 2006. The officers listed are J. P. Surma, D. D. Sandman, J. H. Goodish, G. R. Haggerty, and J. J. Connelly, with specified salary amounts. In addition to their salaries, these executives receive certain perquisites, including limited personal use of corporate aircraft and properties, club memberships, financial planning services, and parking.

BASE SALARIES OF NAMED EXECUTIVE OFFICERS
On April 24, 2006, the Compensation & Organization Committee of the Board of Directors approved the following annual base salaries for the named executive officers (as defined in Item 402(a)(3) of Regulation S-K) of United States Steel Corporation, such base salaries to become effective on May 1, 2006:
