Regulatory Settlement Agreement Among MEGA Life, Mid-West National, Chesapeake Life, and State Insurance Regulators
This agreement is between MEGA Life and Health Insurance Company, Mid-West National Life Insurance Company of Tennessee, Chesapeake Life Insurance Company, and various state insurance regulators. It resolves findings from a multi-state market conduct examination. The companies agree to pay a $20 million penalty and may face up to $10 million more if they fail to meet certain performance standards. They must also implement an outreach program to inform policyholders about their coverage and provide support. The agreement becomes effective 30 days after approval by regulators in 27 jurisdictions.
